Our company was founded in 1983 under the leadership of Daniel Ravenel, a ninth generation Charlestonian. This leadership continues with Dan's son and daughter, both active in the business leadership and Lowcountry communities we serve. With our 2021 expansion into Savannah, and coastal markets south of Charleston, we have increased our level of service to our clients. Our team of professional realtors includes the very best real estate experts in the area, and are hand selected by leadership based on their knowledge of the local market, deep connections to their community, and their ability to offer unparalleled representation to their clients. Sotheby's Auction House

In the heart of London on New Bond Street in 1744, an exceptional auction house was born. That house built a revered tradition of uniting collectors with world-class works of art and marketing the world's most cherished possessions — a tradition that, now over two centuries old, provides authentic knowledge comparable to none.

1976

Sotheby's International Realty

Founded on the same commitment to exceptional service that characterized the Sotheby's Auction House for more than two centuries, the Sotheby's International Realty brand is created and becomes known around the world for the distinctive properties it represents.

1983

Daniel Ravenel Real Estate Opens for Business

Daniel Ravenel Real Estate Company was founded in early 1983 under the visionary leadership of Daniel Ravenel, a lifelong Charlestonian. As a passionate 34 year old entrepreneur, Daniel opened his real estate office on Broad Street as a sole proprietorship and set about delivering exceptional service to buyers and sellers from the first transaction.

2004

Global Expansion

Sotheby's enters into a long-tern strategic alliance with Realogy Holdings Corp. (NYSE: RLGY), a global leader in real estate franchising and provider of real estate brokerage, relocation and settlement services. The agreement provides for the licensing of the Sotheby's International Realty name. The brand begins offering membership in its franchise system to select real estate brokerage companies.

2007

Daniel Ravenel Real Estate Joins Sotheby's International Realty

In 2007 Daniel Ravenel Sotheby's International Realty was born as an affiliate of the prestigious Sotheby's International Realty brand, offering unparalleled access to the world's most distinctive properties and clientele through its global network of affiliates.

2009

Daniel Ravenel's son joins the company

Daniel Ravenel Jr. joins the business and learns from the ground up how to build a company through talent acquisition and a focus on company culture. One step at a time, Daniel’s influence is felt by clients and agents in the form of quality service, exceptional training and business planning.

2013

A family tradition continues

Ruthie Ravenel, Dan's daughter, begins working within the company as Marketing Director, but rapidly discovers her natural talents as a Sales Agent, and transitions into a Sales role. Ruthie is consistently a top producer since becoming a Sales agent, as well as taking part in strategic planning for the long term success of the firm.

2021

Celia Dunn joins Daniel Ravenel

Daniel Ravenel Sotheby's International Realty, merges with Celia Dunn Sotheby's International Realty offering expanded market reach throughout the South Carolina and Georgia Lowcountry with offices in Charleston, Bluffton, Hilton Head Island and Savannah.
