About Marcia:

Although Marcia's family is from Boston, she was born in Bryn Mawr, PA and spent her early years enjoying adventures in Philadelphia before her family relocated to the Carolina Lowcountry when she was in elementary school. That is where she has called home ever since.

After graduating from Summerville High School (Go Greenwave!), Marcia double-majored in Microbiology and Biochemistry, earning a Bachelor of Science from Clemson University (Go Tigers!). She then returned home to Charleston to begin her career in the Pharmaceutical Industry.

For 25 years, Marcia enjoyed a highly successful and rewarding sales career, working in partnership with physicians, pharmacists, and nurses in hospitals/health systems, military facilities, and private practice offices across the state. She was consistently recognized as a national leader for exceeding sales goals and also hand-picked to coordinate prestigious international conventions. Marcia, to this day, continues to enjoy lifelong friendships from her school years and her first career in the pharmaceutical and health care industry.

Marcia's background and experience, combined with her love of all things South Carolina Lowcountry, inspired her to come out of early retirement to pursue a new passion and second career in Real Estate. This background and experience, along with her deep roots in the local community, helped pave the way for a seamless and successful transition.

As a Realtor with Daniel Ravenel Sotheby’s International Realty for the past 10 years, Marcia has helped clients buy and sell homes in the historic district of Charleston’s downtown peninsula, beach communities such as Kiawah Island, Wild Dunes on the Isle of Palms, and Folly, suburban Mt. Pleasant/East Cooper, West of the Ashley, James and Johns Island, and Summerville, as well as rural Ravenel and Berkeley County waterfront.

Marcia has enjoyed success selling both historic homes and brand new construction. She sold a neighbor’s Historic Ansonborough home in downtown Charleston circa 1840 and also a home dating to 1850 in Historic Summerville.

Her sales include primary homes, secondary homes, and investment properties for individuals and corporations. Marcia has the necessary skills and experience to help clients with a broad range of real estate needs including 1031 investments, foreclosures, short sales, land sales, estate sales, navigating appraisals and CL-100 inspections as well as downsizing, upsizing, and relocation. She is well versed with the Board of Architectural Review (BAR) and Zoning process.

Marcia's sales totaled $15 million in the past two years, despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. Her desire to become an even greater resource to her existing and new clients sparked her decision to take her career to the next level in 2023. She completed the necessary classes and exams to obtain her Broker license, which further positions her to provide exceptional service and expertise to her clients.

Returning to her Lowcountry roots after college, Marcia spent a year living on Kiawah Island before moving to downtown Charleston. She found her perfect home in Ansonborough in 1989 and has been an active member of the Historic Ansonborough Neighborhood Association (HANA) since then. She previously served as HANA’s Vice President and several terms as a board member. In her spare time, Marcia enjoys all the amenities that Charleston has to offer including wonderful restaurants, shopping on King Street, and spending time with family and friends, especially on the water and at festivals. She is an avid reader and enjoys cooking, gardening, photography and staying active.

I loved working with Marcia! My wife and I moved from Boston, MA to Charleston, SC this past summer, and Marcia helped us throughout the entire process. We were still in Boston while house hunting, so it was amazing to have someone like Marcia working with us. She was happy to view locations on our behalf, talk to sellers and agents, etc. She was honest and not afraid to share her perspective, which we appreciated. Marcia is knowledgeable about the area. She clearly knew the neighborhoods that made sense for our family and could articulate why. I felt confident we were picking a location that made sense She is professional, responsive and a pleasure to work with the whole time. We'll definitely work with her again!
